80th Birthday

This is the year when my Dad & Hubbys Mum & Dad are all 80 years old. The first is next week so here is the first card. My Father in law has no hobbies so making personal cards are difficult. This is what I came up with. I made a bottle template out of paper and transferred it to green card. The Forever Friends champagne stamp seemed appropriate. I just hope he likes it. Only thing to get now is the pressie.

Two Challenges in One

I have just made this card for two challenges. The layout is from Clare's weekly sketch on the Docrafts site and the stamp is Penny Black for their Saturday challenge 'Frame It' . I made this with free backing papers from Cardmaking and Papercraft mag and good old nestibilities and one of my favourite stamps. I coloured the image with Copic pens, I'm still experimenting with these and trying to build up my range of colours gradually.

Charisma Cardz Challenge #3

This weeks challenge is 'love', a great theme since we are all getting into valentine mode. I made it simple this week emphasising a heart. Maybe I have went too plain but hey sometimes less is more so they say. I used a free heart stamp from Cardmaking & Papercraft mag on acetate and put a little sparkle on the back and a few Liquid Pearl dots on the front and placed it in a Nestibilities ring. This is placed with some little punched hearts on a matted, layed and swirl embossed panel. I stamped the Studio G 'love' stamp along the top & bottom.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

This the first time I have entered this challenge. I have been a long time admirer of PB stamps. My collection is small but growing all the time, they are very addictive stamps.
This is for week 32 'Lets Get Dotty'. A great theme that generated inspiration immediately.
I used a white base card and matted DCWV blue spotted paper from the spring stack onto blue card. My image is the dog from Critter Party images, circles are nestibilities scallops, ribbon is Papermania dots and small hearts are X-cut punch.
I enjoyed making this card.

Clare's Sketch of the Week

I am trying to do a little more in the way of challenges this year so this is for Clare Curd's sketch of the week on the docrafts site. I just love my Penny Black stamps (can you guess). So I have used yet another hedgehog. This time I used Papermania paper background and the X-cut punch and border system to make the patterned strip. Coloured the image with Copic pens and cut this out with nestibilities (another favourite, need to get more shapes......). The butterfly is from Personal Impressions.

Spring Again

I think I am just being hopeful that Spring is just round the corner. Especially when I look out the window and see the wind and sleet. I made this card from left over peel offs. I have decided to use things that have been lying in my stash for ages. I'm sure we all have such items that we are not too sure what to do with! I found rainbow paper and a little ribbon I had bought in the summer on the Isle of Bute. Every where I visit that has a craft shop I buy something as a remembrance and this was such an item. This is a simple card but I think eye catching.

ATC

Artist Trading Cards can be fun to make using little bits of left over card. I made ths one for a friend in Cornwall with the Forever Friends champagne stamp and punched stars with 2009 on them. In the past I have received some beautiful ATC's from Edna. Often the ATC' can be used as toppers for cards.

Retiring

I made this card to send to our cousin in Canada for his early retirement. I used nestibilities scalloped circles to make the card and mounts. The stamp is Penny Black Party Critters with hand written sentiments. I made a matching envelope. Hope he likes it!

Poppy

I don't know about anyone else but I get freebies from magazines and often add them to my stash and forget about them. Well this is one such item, I got the free calander from cardmaking and Papercraft last year which was Flower Fairies. Lots of lovely decoupage images to make. I do not often do decoupage so put them aside, but as I was unwell over Christmas I was not up to crafting in my room so decided to cut out some of the images and this is one I have finally made up. See what you think!

Challenge 2

The next challenge was for Clare's Sketch of the Week. I made this card with an Artemio Magenta flower stamp trimmed with curled wire, Cuttlebud Dots embossing folder (love this can you tell!) and papers from Daisy Bucket Designs.

Challenge 1

I have just uploaded these entries to the Docraft site for Clare Curds Challenge of the Week and Sketch of the Week. The first one challenge of the week was to use only 5 elements.
1. Stamped image
2. Cuttlebug Dots emossed background
3. Ribbon
4. Rub-on greeting
5. Tag
This was quite difficut as I don't usually count the number of items on my cards.

New Year card

I am posting a New Year card as promised earlier today.

Happy New Year at last !!!

A very Happy New Year to all albeit a little late. Unfortunately I was unwell over the feative period and have not been able to post. You will understand how unwell I was with pluerisy that I could not even muster up enough energy to craft (anyone who knows me will tell you that is bad as I generally craft every possible day). I made a couple of cards yesterday but Hubby has yet to photograph them so I will post them later. Hope all you bloggers had a great time over Christmas and New Year and didn't over indulge too much!!!
